I don’t know about you, but I’ve been reading a LOT about Building Information Modeling (BIM) lately. Even Warren Buffet is talking about BIM! It used to be that BIM was used strictly for larger corporations who were building medium to large manufacturing plants or offices. But now, people are talking about BIM for homes – yours and mine! Does that seem odd to you? Corporations are using this technology to save them money on their large projects. If this technology could be used for your betterment, would that be relevant?

In the recent press of information regarding the materials in our homes, we’ve all heard of “going green.” In the interest of trying to set out the definition of that, we’ve posted this article, What is Green Remodeling Anyway. There we give a list of things to consider when selecting materials, work habits, and energy usage.
Today, I came across a poignant illustration of why material selection is important. Consider this from the American Lung Assocation, a graphical guide to possible pollutants in your home.
I’m not trying to give you nightmares at all…just trying to consider, for myself too, the reasons to “go green”.
There is a great movement in remodeling and building that is called Green Building. There are so many people talking about Green.
There are several questions that come to mind. What does Green Building mean? How do you do it? How does Green building give the homeowner an advantage?
Green building can be a very broad scope, and can be achieved in many ways.
